This is a neat old stoneware collectible jar for James Keillor & Sons Ltd. Dundee orange marmalade. It measures 4.5 inches tall and has a 3 inch diameter at top. As can be seen in photos, there is discoloration throughout and crazing as well as some wear to graphic lettering. There is light wear around the bottom rim as can be seen in photos as well.

I started eating it with breakfast muffins when I worked in Scotland in the 1990's. Unlike most other marmalades that seem to be super-sweet, Keiller Orange Marmalade is made with Seville Oranges, which are noted for their slightly bitter flavor. Its cargo included Seville oranges which were purchased on speculation by a Dundee grocer called James Keiller. It was Mrs. Keiller who saw the potential of these bitter Spanish oranges. She boiled the oranges with sugar and the resulting product was the delicious preserve now known as Dundee Orange Marmalade.
